Internet Policy
This policy is a recommended model, not to replace any individual schools ICT/Internet user policy
1. All pupil access to the Internet is to be supervised.
2. The network is to be used for educational use.
This includes class activities, peer review of assigned work and the exchange of project based ideas, opinions, and questions via email, message boards and other means.
3. All staff members are aware of the child safety guidelines:
· Pupils should never give their surname, address, or phone number and should check with their teacher or supervising adult before providing any personal information that may be requested by a specific web site.
· Pupils should notify an adult immediately if they encounter any inappropriate or offensive material.
· Photographs should not be close-up, full frontal photos of children.
All photographs of children should be general. They should be taken in such a way as to ensure the individual identity of a child is protected (eg from an angle, in profile, at a distance etc) not include any information that could identify the child.
4. Adults should notify the ICT co-ordinator or designated person, of any inappropriate or offensive material and of misuse of the Internet / network.
